HYROX is the fitness race that mixes running with functional stations like sleds, SkiErgs, rowers, wall balls and sandbags. Mas Body Gym was the first gym in Teesside to become an official HYROX affiliate, so the kit (official sleds, wall balls, sandbags and kettlebells, Concept2 rowers and SkiErgs), the formats and the coaching are the real thing. Mike Hind MBE is a HYROX Academy Level 1 and 2 coach and Ashleigh is a HYROX Academy Level 1 coach. You do not need to be racing to train with us: the classes scale to every level.

Mike has more than 20 years in the fitness industry, was named Personal Trainer of the Year at the National Fitness Awards four years running (2017 to 2020), is an IFBB competition preparation coach and a HYROX Academy Level 1 and 2 coach, and holds the MBE for services to the community. Ashleigh has been with the gym for ten years, from apprentice to gym manager and personal trainer, and assists Mike in the day-to-day running of the gym. She coaches the classes, competes in NPC Bikini, is the 2024 NABBA Miss Universe Bikini champion and holds more female bikini titles than anyone else in the North East, and she coaches bikini posing and does competition tans for anyone stepping on stage. Between them they have taken complete beginners, people losing 20 stone and competitive athletes to where they wanted to be.
